Congratulations to all the students, parents, staff, and alumni who contributed their remarkable artworks to this year’s Meraki Art Exhibition.
Opening night was a celebration of creativity and God-given talent in every artist, as our community admired the captivating pieces on display.
Guests enjoyed delicious canap茅s and refreshments, expertly prepared by our hospitality students and staff, as artists and attendees mingled throughout the evening.
Guests were invited to vote for their favourite works, and we are pleased to share the winners of the People鈥檚 Choice Awards. Congratulations to the artists!

A Collection of Inspiring Artists Statements
The Beauty of Nature by Jasmine B (Year 10)
This artwork is titled The Beauty of Nature. It addresses the issue of pollution and waste along our beaches. The artwork consists of a collage of old magazines and other recycled materials such as paper towel rolls, which work together to depict a beach scene. This shows that waste that is normally thrown out can be recycled to create something new and interesting. It also shows that we need to act now and save our beautiful beaches from destruction so that we can enjoy them for longer.
Wise Old Man by Erin F (Year 12)
This artwork depicts an old man with a tree growing from his head, symbolising the wisdom he’s gained over the years. The rain represents the planting of new ideas, continually expanding his knowledge. Embedded in the soil, his roots signify a deep connection to the earth while blooming flowers and green grass reflect a positive, nurturing environment.
The orange rim around his skull features Roman numerals, illustrating the passage of time and his ongoing readiness to learn. This piece highlights the importance of growth, curiosity, and staying connected to nature, portraying a harmonious blend of life, wisdom, and the environment.
Aussie Blooms by Catherine Stewart (Staff)
This painting is a still life of a bouquet of Australian native flowers. I used a blend of realism and impressionistic texture, with multiple layers of paint to emphasise the roughness of the clay bowl. The flowers were painted in detail, a process that took many hours but was worth the effort. The background is applied more loosely to create texture and movement, allowing the realistically painted flowers to stand out. The colours in the background and on the table reflect the natural palette of Australia, with greens representing the land and blue greens evoking the ocean.
Konbanwa Kyoto by Natasha Fitzgerald (Staff)
In Japan the distinct architecture is beautiful. This piece was designed to give afternoon atmospheric light.听 The perspective leads you down the street inviting you to take a walk to discover what is around the corner.
